How It Works
FAQ
-
M-DISC is a special type of archival disc designed to protect your photos, videos, and documents for up to 1,000 years. Instead of using dyes that fade (like regular DVDs or CDs), M-DISC uses a rock-like layer that your files are literally engraved into. That means your memories won’t fade, corrupt, or disappear over time.
-
M-DISC uses a rock-like data layer that resists heat, light, humidity, and decay. It’s tested to last up to 1,000 years, unlike flash drives or cloud services.
-
Once your M-DISC arrives, you can view the photos on any computer that has a disc drive (DVD or Blu-ray).
If your computer doesn’t have one, purchase the external USB disc reader on our products page. Just plug it in, insert your disc, and your photos will open like a normal folder. -
After you upload your photos, your disc is normally created, verified, and shipped within 2–4 business days.
-
You can upload up to 15GB of photos, videos, or documents — roughly 3,000–5,000 images depending on size.
-
You can purchase a compatible external disc reader on our products page. It plugs into any USB port and works with Macs and PCs.
-
Because M-DISC is write-once (for longevity), you cannot add more files to the same disc — but you can always order another archive.
